Heavy Rain is the only non-Wii, non-PC exclusive that makes me jealous. FROWN.GIF

Just started Heavy Rain yesterday, first game I've played in ages.
MT
It starts off VERY slowly, but stick with it.

I honestly enjoyed even the first few scenes. It's interesting to see all the different things you can do early on. And it's a good "tutorial" for the different types of things you'll experience in a much more stress free environment. XD

Oh it's interesting and I enjoyed it too, but the story itself doesn't really start off until a few hours in.

The first hour or so was me just walking around doing random stuff like brushing my teeth, taking a piss, a shower, etc.

Other than his overall relatively negative view, he does raise some good points

I was almost afraid he'd review the game since he long ago made very clear his opinion of both QTE's and games that play like a choose your own adventure novel of which this is both. As such I think it got off light all things considered. Though exceptionally hilarious none the less. XD

I've gone through the game a few times now and have seen all the endings and overall I'm glad I got the game. There's a number of glaring discrepancies that I really hope they clear up with some DLC at least though. Most of the "complaints" I see are people just not paying attention well enough or being retarded, but there is a small handful of things that really needed an explanation. Whether important to the plot or not (there's a few of both).

I'm also sorely disappointed that that douche Carter never gets the tail end of any blunt force trauma no matter the ending. FROWN.GIF

Overall, I think it was better than Indigo Prophecy story wise (overall since the first half of IP was amazing but the second half threw up on itself), but gameplay wise it felt like almost nothing you did was terribly important. A lot of the QTE sections you didn't actually HAVE to do anything for half the events. Failing them just meant you got hit a few times. Of course in some cases this isn't true, but I remember in IP failing certain things and being completely fucked over for it.

In the end it felt like an extended movie that needed a gimmick so they turned into a game-ish sort of creature (so mostly I agree with the video I guess. lol Just on a more favorable angle).
