So, Zetsu and Madara save Sasuke. Can't say I saw Zetsu coming back, but Madara isn't a huge surprise.

I feel that Kishi is using Madara as a cop out to just flesh out the rest of the plot. Good, cause I'm honestly tired of waiting...

so, tsuchikage actually wrecked sasuke? or no? he had all that chakra from zetsu then BAM he's unconscious?

Why is Tsuchikage flying?

So, the snotty swordsman combines his swords and then it becomes a hammer?

Well we certainly got to see a number of jutsus. I wish the names were at least translated.

And the sushikage is floating...

It's uh, nice knowing Madara's plan, but why exactly is this the chosen way to do it? So, was Sasuke only sent there so he'd have the Kages full attention?

This arc is far too choppy. Nothing lasts long enough, nothing finishes properly, there's no flow and direction. Now we get another lot of Madara Exposition. I like Madara, and I'm very keen to hear more about his plans, but it's starting to seem really forced and clumsy now.

Zetsu was great, though.

I miss Itachi's fighting style. He never missed a chance to use genjutsu.

I do wonder how Madara managed his entrance, it can't be all that easy to show up right next to someone who's in danger pick him up and then get out.

As for Madara's plans, is it just a coincidence that he appeared when Danzou was gone?

Yondaime did it in Kakashi Gaiden. I guess you just need to be very fast.

No, it's very different.
Yondaime teleported because he knew that his students were in danger (he explained that when the kunai was flying he was alerted. And you don't send kunais flying just for fun.) How did Madara know that Sasuke was in danger?
Yondaime knew where he had to teleport to (again thanks to the magic kunai). How did Madara know where Sasuke was?

So, Yondaime saved his students by virtue of a surprise attack against fodders while being alerted of danger and the whereabouts of his students. Madara apparently went in right as a Kage level ninja was trying to obliterate Sasuke (and the attack must have reached Sasuke otherwise why would he be knocked out? So why is Madara unharmed if he was there?), went out (without anyone noticing he had been around, Karin only sensed Sasuke disappearing), went back in for extra lolz.

Well now that that's out, I'll just go with a more realistic construction since from what we've seen of Madara's teleportation it seems odd he did it that fast (it seems to take a couple of seconds for him to teleport his body). He likely was alerted by Zetsu of Sasuke's whereabouts. (I remember him telling Zetsu he'd watch the recording of Itachi's fight, so perhaps Zetsu showed the scene to Madara) Then he created one of his wormholes below Sasuke and had him fall in it as he got hit (with susanoo protection) by FlyingSuchiMan's sphere in a cube attack.

But will it ever be explained?

no, but he HAS NOT FACED THE FURY OF THE RASENSHURIKEN!!!!!!!!

Shino's bugs were writhing and crawling all over him while sucking his chakra.

Also changing his clothes like superman to avoid Itachi's amaterasu trap.

To put it simply, if his body was there, he should have gotten hurt too.

Madara's an enigma...a ghost or something. I'm sure more wil be revealed later.

For the chapter as a whole I thought the action was very rushed and confusing. Sasuke should have kept fighting Gaara and Raikage...that would have been a more interesting fight with more emotion behind it. Maybe Kishi wanted to show off the abilities of the other kages. Though overall the level of ability these kages have shown has been kinda sad.

I agree with Woofie, this arc has been really choppy and has akwardly moved from plot point to plot point.
