Strategy Guides do not make you good at a game.
And neither does skipping, which was the original point and the connection I was making.

Utilizing a "skip gameplay" button makes it a movie, not a game. >.>
I watched all of MGS4 and got what I wanted out of it. I doubt other people watching a game will have much of an effect on you playing it.

But skipping would allow you to get THROUGH the game and thus claim to have beat it (as you know plenty of people would). Even using a strategy guide if you beat the game at least you actually DID something.
This would be like sitting in the backseat of a race car, the car you are in wins, and you claim to be the winner of the race.
A better analogy would have been the use of cheats and/or cheat devices as a comparison.

Also, did you pay $60 for MGS4? If I recall you watched it all on YouTube or something similar. Which is fine. If that's what you want out of the game, that's cool, but I don't see you claiming to have beat or even to have PLAYED the game which will be the end result of implementing something like this.
To me this whole issue boils down to an annoyance factor. I should really just sit back and have fun loling at people who buy $60 games to hit a skip button.
