Well, the Angels are off to a shitty start. 1-2 already against Oakland, and
one of their pitchers died last night. There was even a
fight that took place during Opening Day (which I was at, must've happened either close by where I was sitting or a few levels up).

The M's are 2-2. My NL team is 3-0. Although they swept the Nationals so its not like the played a top team.
Anyways, its terrible what happened to that pitcher. His career and life was just getting started.

Eh, a team can start out 0-20 and still finish first in their division. That's why I can't get into baseball until about June.

My Padres split a 4 game series with LA.

I think once Heath Bell gets into a rhythm he will be a very good closer. No Hoffman by all means. That man is a god among closers. Bell will do well.
R.I.P. Nick Adenhart.
So the guy that killed Adenhart and the others in the car may get 55 years to life. I'd hate to be the lawyer charged with trying to defend him.

Right there with you, except it's playoff time for me. Nothing seems to matter till it's down to the wire.
God damn that was a close game. I was so afraid the Red Sox would pull it off and take the game in the 9th, especially when Ortiz got on base. So very glad they managed to pull it off.

Padres swept the 3 game series with the Giants. They are now tied for the best record in Baseball with St. Louis, Seattle, and Toronto. Never thought I'd be saying that.

I know it's only the first week but I'm a Padre fan... I'll take 'em where I can get 'em.

The Indians scored 14 Runs on the Yankees in one inning. Its going to be great when they miss the playoffs again.
Also my Mariners are 8-3 while my NL team (The Marlins) are 10-1.

To bad its only April.

Thoughts?

50? That's excessive.

I'm glad Manny got suspended, I think anyone caught using roids, or doing drugs throughtout the season should have a 1-year ban. Just my Opinion...
GO RED SOX.
5-0 against the Yank's this year, yet we still cant seem to beat the fuckin' Rays...
.. And the Angels are causing some problems as well.

And you start your series against the Jays tomorrow. However, you don't have to face Halladay.
I'm not a huge Toronto fan, but he's easily has become one of my favorite players.

Peavy says no to a trade to the white sox. Padres on a six game win streak. I'm not too thrilled with the other trade though. Padres traded OF Jody Gerut for Brewers OF Tony Gwynn Jr. While the name is the thing here Jody Gerut has been a really dependable hitter for the padres. Only time will tell I guess.

That and somebody has to slow down the Dodgers, they looked good Sweeping the Mets. If they can keep winning like they are, the division could just about be theirs before All-Star.

Yeah, Halladay's great. It sucks that Toronto plays in the AL East because part of me hopes they can keep up their winning ways, but that part is overridden by my desire to see the Red Sox destroy everyone in that division. They can take the wildcard, though.

And destroying is what they've been doing, with the exception of Tampa Bay, which seriously irks me, that we can sweep the yanks twice, sweep the jays, and destroy the O's, but we still cant beat the Rays?
WTF!

So, the Rockies are hot....again....Hopefully the team doesn't have 8 days off anytime soon.

Anyways, Tampa is starting to click and are playing good. My M's just took 2 of 3 from the Dodgers, but damn those Angels taking first place.
That's right, suck it! Texas is next!

And Big Papi joins the steroid user list. They should just release the 100 names already and get it over with.
Probably should've tried following the Blue Jays better earlier in the season when they were good. Might as well try now. I want to follow the Red Sox but there's just not enough games on TV

I really should follow Seattle, but Rogers owns one of the three big canadian sports networks and I can't find a lot of Mariners games for some reason.
Edit: Eh, fuck it. Less games on TV is probably a better thing and the games are at least local time x)

The Pittsburgh Pirates just went down to AAA. Come on, Bucs. You can get to Single A level.

I was in mourning ok. Having discussions with my family on when the funeral for the padres will be. My cousin was telling me that the dodgers want Adrian Gonzalez and Heath Bell. He said if that happened he wouldn't be a padre fan anymore. He might even switch to D-Backs or Angels.
I just don't get why he's dismantling the team. Oh gosh hear I go again....

Rogers owns the Blue Jays, so Sportsnet Pacific gets more Blue Jays than Mariners games for the obvious reason. I guess they do carry 50 Mariners games though.

oh god. here we go. I think the fine and two day suspension is fine for the pitcher. They can't prove that he hit Fielder on purpose. Fielder however should be serving a suspension. There's no need for that in baseball. The benches clear when it happens, fine. Going at it after the game is over is uncalled for.
Lotus
Aug 5 2009, 04:17 PM
It was stupid of Fielder to try to storm the clubhouse, but Mota was being an ass. The Brewers are losing by 13 runs, it's the 9th inning, and you still want to hit him?

So, a huge trade has happened...
Roy Halladay has gone to the Phillies, Cliff Lee has gone the the M's and prospects went elsewhere.
Hey MT, the Angels may have a hard time winning the West again.

Felix Hernandez and Cliff Lee is a great 1-2 Pitching combo.
The M's also stole your 3rd Baseman.
We might be getting Matsui though, I believe.

Solike, we get John Lackey
and get Roy Halladay out of our division? Win.
